Losing weight is one of the most difficult challenges that you will come across.

It can also be one of the most rewarding ways to enrich your life.

While there are only a few ways that are the “wrong” way to diet, there are countless ways to sabotage a diet, and the thing is that you might not even know where you are going wrong.

However, when you stick to a diet and reach your end goal, you will be reaping the rewards of higher confidence, a healthier lifestyle, more energy, and a longer life. No matter what you are trying to achieve, the rewards certainly outweigh the costs, so long as you are not one of those who lose the weight just to end up gaining it back later. “Where do I even start?”

You shouldn’t have to worry about that one. Like I said, you don’t have to worry about that as much as you think. Once you choose your diet, the rest should be easier, especially if it’s a well-documented one. If that’s the route that you are going to go, you should make sure that you do your research well to make sure that it’s feasible for you and to make sure that you can stick to it even after you reach your weight goals, because if it doesn’t seem feasible after, you are likely to gain all that weight back.

However, I’m not here to try to sell you a diet. My goal is to help you lose that weight and to keep it off for good. Anyone can lose weight, no matter the reason for the weight gain.

You’ve probably heard all the excuses for extra weight gain. With some sensitivity to those who are having legitimate issues, I’ll mention some of my favorites and how you can get around it:
== I’m big boned. There is nothing wrong with having a larger frame, in fact, that gives you a distinct advantage when trying to lose extra weight. By having a larger frame, you get the distinct advantages of bone density and faster muscle formation. When you take advantage of a large frame, you are going to be getting fit faster, carry more weight in a healthier manner, and show your results much faster than somebody with a smaller frame. Unfortunately, this also has the disadvantage of looking larger even when you are healthy, and when you are not fit, it’s easier to tell on you than it would be on a smaller frame. Instead of focusing on your BMI and that scale in your bathroom, you’ll benefit from measuring your body fat percentage instead, as that will give you a better picture.

== I have an underactive thyroid. This is an actual medical concern that you should be looking at. In actuality, the weight gain involved with an underactive thyroid is not as dramatic as some will lead you to believe, so it kind of hurts me to watch someone make the argument when they are not in a good place health-wise. The thing is that an underactive thyroid is cheap to diagnose and quite affordable to treat. Once you treat your thyroid, you are going to find that extra weight almost melting off your body, and whatever remains, the information in my lessons will help you get rid of the rest.

In fact, a lot of my advice is going to help boost your thyroid’s ability to function while you are going through the medication process. Do not just ignore your underactive thyroid, as it can lead to a plethora of medical problems.

== I just don’t have time. Between everything else going on in your life, it’s so easy to let your weight and health take the backburner. The problem I have with this is that you certainly have time to improve your health. When people decide to put themselves last and are just trying to get through the day, it’s easy to let your own health go wayside, and it triggers a spiral where they want to lose the weight, but for the reasons that pertain to them, they simply do not.
The problem that I find is that there is a lack of education out there on how to get out of the spiral and put their health first, much less how to safely lose the weight that they want to. Dieting makes sense to them, but as you already know, that tends to be a bit of a trap where your weight begins to yo-yo, you are getting cranky, and in the end, you just give up and go back to what you have been doing.
